Here is a photo from Stéphane Brule in French Guiana. Could anyone confirm whether I have guessed the correct family ... and possibly add any more information?

Well, and I am hoping that Stephane Brule collected the specimen... It's a Microdon (s.l.) indeed, from a species group restricted to the neotropics. I am reasonably sure (but not entirely) that this is an undescribed species. I would certainly like to see more pictures, or even better: the real specimen! |
