This summer (Aug, 10) in Lelystad NL I photographed this blue calliphoridae. Could it be Protocalliphora azurea?

That could very well be. It seems a bit dark, so one might think Protophormia, but the locality and time of year is definitely in favour of Protocalliphora. Probably a trick of the (flash-)light. Theo |

Thanks, Theo. Yes the fly was probably less dark. I found another photo from a somewhat different angle, where it is much brighter.
