It's another nice one but I can't see enough in the photo that would distinguish it from a lot of species ... it's a bit too anonymous

I agree. There are only 3 post DC and no scutellar apicals, so Blondeliini is than more than likely. In which case female Blondelia nigripes comes in mind... Theo |

I'd say "uncertain Blondelia nigripes" is a fair summary or "possible Blondelia nigripes" Some tachinids stand out as obvious ... others can be deduced by an expert with some good photos ... and quite a lot (like this) can be guessed at but it's impossible to exclude it fro ma group of species Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |
