Nick, it depends on piont of view: According the keys given by Gregor et al. (2002) or D'Assis Fonseca (1968) it is rather female of minor (=picta in Fonseca). According Vikhrev (2011, in press, should be published Jan 2011, may be found here: http://www.biosoil.ru/fee/) minor is synonym of maculata. OK, many thanks again. G. maculata will do for me. I hope your paper is well received and that it resolves the taxonomic confusion. I know some prefer to split than to lump, so realise others may take a different view!
