hello flyforum,

What kind of Empididae sp. are these?
They were found in May (in the Netherlands).
The flies got pollen on the back, probably from visiting flowers?

I'll ask Jan (who found the flies) further for location, I don't know yet.

Hello fly-forum,

I just will give you the location: Roermond (Netherlands) (Isabellegreend, een schiereiland in de Maas)
Jan, who found these flies thinks of Empis ciliata..?

Could be possible as these can handle rather big prey. I only know them from half-open woodland, but who am I? (The question is rethorical, Gerard! Wink)
