Thank you Ruud, but now I want to show another female Scellus which I have from Lincoln. The first close-up picture has flash which has highlighted its slight metallic colour, and doesn't look very different; but please look at the second image of the two together (the insect you commented on the the one on top) and you can see that #2 is larger and greyer (less metallic). I believe(?) that UK has only S. notatus, but can it really be as variable as this.
