I found a dead caterpillar (or seems dead). I put it on a box. I couldt take its photos. First of all I think that it is a butterfly (perhaps Lycaena) caterpillar, because I found it on a Rumex sp.
In two days It get a pupa and after ten days a diptera get out from this pupa.
What kind of diptera is it?
Thanks.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
