Can anyone put a genus or species on this crane fly? Photographed near Chicago IL USA today (5-27-05). About 30-40 mm legs included. Thanks! ~Bruce  |

I would put my money on a species of Nephrotoma but it is difficult to be certain, especially as the wings are folded and the venation is not visible to check.
