ok then this is allso Scaeva selenitica male. What is not totaly clear to me
is brown facial part.You have in galey image where that part is almost totaly white:

Is this a variation inside species ?

There is no brown facial part, just some dense brown pilosity on frons.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
