15 august 2010, The Netherlands, De Wieden
In Alnion, 10 mm long

A bit longer then the L albiseta, which is abundant on this site. Then i saw that the arista is placed more to the top of the antenne - like in Loxocera (Platystyla) hoffmannseggi. But it is not that dark..

I have only this single dorsal shot
Any ideas?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
