Can't figure out which group this grasshopper is in. The closest photo match I found was genus Achurnum in subfamily Gomphocerinae in the family Acrididae. Unfortunately I did not record the size. Photographed in a dry, sandy area called Mescalero Sands, in the state of New Mexico, USA. The date was 6 May 2006. Any help with ID would be appreciated. I won't be able to help much, but you should realize that this is not an adult so it may be difficult for someone not experienced with Orthoptera to put the correct name on it.

Hello Stephen, I'd rather agree with Achurum sp. |
