Hello This tiny fly (about 3 mm) was sun bathing on a Centaurea paniculata along an edge row near a dry meadow. I think it coud be a Tephritidae, something like Chaetorellia or Orellia. Surely; larvae in flowerhead galls on Centaurea nigra and C. jacea. Additional comment: some Alpine and possibly other populations show intermediate morphological features beltween U. jaceana and U. affinis, either being of hybrid or intermediate origin, but their status is obscure.
