Seen on Portsdown Hill yesterday. Both have recently appeared in largish numbers.

The predominently yellow abdomen make these quite striking to see in flight. Could someone please ID this one for me?

I think that this is Scaeva pyrastri. Can anyone please confirm or correct this?

Thanks
Kind regards

Peter

Top is Sphaerophoria sp. male (identifiable only by genitalia). Bottom is correct.
