Seen on Portsdown Hill yesterday. Both have recently appeared in largish numbers. http://www.imagei...Ged9-L.jpg The predominently yellow abdomen make these quite striking to see in flight. Could someone please ID this one for me? http://www.imagei...kixa-L.jpg I think that this is Scaeva pyrastri. Can anyone please confirm or correct this? Thanks Kind regards Peter www.imageinuk.com |

Top is Sphaerophoria sp. male (identifiable only by genitalia). Bottom is correct.
