Hello Flyforum, First I thought this was Peplomyza-fly(litura in holland), but when I look at the wingpatterns, these are different(for example: I see dark spots). This fly is also elongated, got nice oval wingshapes, but the wings are standing in a different position. Scutellum got color as scutem, the Peplomyza litura-fly I found before got a much lighter Scutellum. Hi Robert, Paul is completely right (just as we expect from him  ). It is a female of Opomyza germinationis (Opomyzidae). At least the first one is a female (I don't know if all pictures are of the same specimen!?).Jan Willem Edited by Jan Willem on 30-08-2006 07:43 |

Yes, Jan Willem, this pictures are the same specimen. Nice to know this kind of fly, I never found one. But they are a bit small, that could be one of the reasons.. thank you both, robert heemskerk |

Hi Robert, Currently 14 species of this family are known from The Netherlands. Most species are smaller than Opomyza germinationis  .Jan Willem |
