This one turned up in a pan trap some time ago, I think at Scatsta Airport. Any further with ID, and is Piophilidae even correct?

This is a Psilidae, Chamaepsila, could be Chamaepsila nigra according to Seguy's key (3 dc, black face, yellow tibiae).
Stephane.

Even better....Smile...Thank you Stephane. This is also unrecorded in Shetland.
Only 2 on my List are Loxocera fulviventris and Psila humeralis.
Not sure but I think this one may be in among some flies sent to Paul, so he might give it the once over and confirm your suggestion.
Ahem....I say Paul PAUL Paul....PAUL...PAUL...Gonna check if this is among that small sample of Shetland Flies....Thanks Smile

Regards Roger

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
