So, I was wrong, not drosophila but Lauxaniidae Sapromyza (I'm getting better(?) - this was not just a guess, but a calculated guess, then comparison with the gallery photos. So hopefully Drosophila). The eyes appear to be green or could that be a reflection from the leaves? nick smith attached the following image: [102.99Kb] Edited by nick smith on 01-07-2010 14:23 |

Don't worry, Nick. You will learn all this stuff. It requires time and study. After all, the most important thing is having fun! So,no stresses! And as friend Valery told: "Keep on trying (..)"! |

Sapromyza. Better change the title to lure Katka in for an ID.

And as friend Valery told: "Keep on trying (..)"! I find that a pin and a blindfold is the best way to make decisions regarding ID'ing from the Gallery....It works for me.... Bit hard on the Laptop Screen though... Roger Edited by Roger Thomason on 01-07-2010 11:47 |
