Hi,
Today I found three different Tephritids, all sitting on Oenothera plants, which might have been accidental. ID should be not too difficult, two I have found out myself. Confirmation / correction is highly appreciated!

#1: should be Gonioglossum wiedemanni.

Many thanks, Valery - so my own ID was quite good. Wow, these Thephritids are nice!

Yep, especially Goniglossum, which is not common at all!

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
