Is it possible to get an accurate ID for this very dark Corsican Rhagionidae? Rhagio sp. I think, closest to Rhagio lineola monticola from gallery images but I don't have a key / don't know what species are possible for Corsica.

OK - many thanks Walter. This is a new family to me -but I see they used to be considered as Rhagionids, so I got quite close at least!. Can anyone identify it further? Ibisia is the only genus shown in the gallery.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
