Hi, Recently I saw this tiny dark fly on a flowerhead of Anthemis ruthenica. It was almost too small for my camera (cp. the Lauxaniid nearby). Its habit reminded me of Milichiidae, but I do not know representatives of that family with a yellow frons. On the contrary, Milichiidae (Desmometopa) have a kind of "black M" pattern on the head that I cannot see here (though there is not much to be seen at all, I am afraid...) Can anything be said about this little one? Many thanks, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: [169.48Kb] |

Ah - really? I found the habit a bit strange for a member of this family. So fly's chances get better, as one of my colleagues is a Chloropid expert. Thanks, Paul! |
