Hi,
In a wood I came across this nice Tachinid today. Is it perhaps a Thelaira nigripes?

Yes - looks good to me Smile Big eyes, plumose arista & 2-3 anterodorsal bristles on middle tibia.

Thank you, Chris - but in all my pics I could not spot a plumose arista, even at maximum magnification...
