The abdominal pattern is reminiscent of Asteidae. However the marked costal break, with costa thickened immediately before, single pair of dorsocentrals and apparently velvety scutellum all add up to Mycodrosophila (Drosophilidae). Being found on a fungus fits as well!Wink

Thanks very much. It was with several unstriped similar sized flies that I assumed were Drosophilids. Perhaps they are in the same genus. I'll follow with a jpeg.
