hi flyforum,

What kind of tachina is this? with it's nice white beard?
Is it Phorocera assimilis?
A rather large tachina (10-15mm).

I'd hazzard a guess at a Phorocera sp. ... not obscura Smile

Ph. assimilis is an excellent ID. Grandis does not occur in het Amsterdamse Bos.

size 10-15mm could be a bit to much, 10-12mm is a better indication I think?

Grandis is no bigger than assimilis, (or assimilis is no smaller) so don't worry
