Hello, does someone know the name of this fly? In a big number walking and making love on brackish water. The Netherlands, today.

Very strange pair. The upper looks like Ephydra (5 dc?) and 3 fr-or, frons metallic, but the face is too silvery-white. Maybe glauca?
The second fly??? Paracoenia? Frown

I'll upload two other pictures. I don't have any lateral views, because there was all water aroundSmile

Ephydra, but can't see enough detail to take it to species.

Thank you all. We have only E. macellaria, riparia and scholtzi. What should I photograph better to take it next time to species? Thanks.

A sharp close-up of the acrostichals (the bristles running along the middle of the thorax) would help. A specimen would be better!

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
