I found this fly, that tried in vain to remove the stuff from his face.
Is this some kind of fungal infestation?

Maybe sticky nectar with some pollen? I do not think it will be mould or something like that. Nice Myopa, by the way.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
