Hello,

I made this picture in September '09 in the middle of Germany.
The length of the diptera was about 8-12 mm.
To me the eyes look like some species of the Tabanidae familiy although I don't really expect that it belongs to this family.

Maybe Calliopum aeneum, according to green shine.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
