I am wondering if any forum members would be able to provide me with any records of Lonchoptera nigrociliata? I am trying to obtain a clearer picture of is distribution. If anyone has spare specimens that would be even better. I would also be keen to know what time of year they are found, I have seen some specimens from February to April, so I am wondering if this species is more common when few dipterists are collecting?

I would also welcome any other Lonchoptera records and/or specimens too.

Mark

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
