Hello,

Is it possible to ID this? It appears the preferred name here now is Machimus atricapillus. There are 4 other species in this genus here, M. arthriticus; cingulatus; cowini; rusticus.

Taken on 14th August 2009, near Lincoln UK. I had to get on top of a step ladder to get these.Wink

Yes, T. atricapillus. The tab on the 8th sternit of the male's abdomen is clearly visible.
