Another fly from the Rouple Gorge dead fly site, Northern Greece, 28-11-2009 - Judging from another thread in view at the moment I am assuming this is C. vicina - but I would like to be sure.

As discussed; orange anterior spiracle --> C. vicina. With the reservation that you could have in Greece some more exotic species, which I have no clue about...

I thought Theo said it was orange/red Gena that made for C. vicina

Darkened calypters, orange spiracle, orange basicosta, occiput and postgenae with pale hairs, genae with orange ground colour: C. vicina.
