Hello, this ~8mm fly is from july from the austrian alps. Unfortunately I only have this photo. The most similar species I know is Thricops cunctans. Can this fly be identified? Or do I have to label it "unknown muscidae. Thanks, Michael Michael Becker attached the following image: [40.34Kb] |

This is very likeley Thricops, but not T. cunctans. The fore tibia with long pv and fronto-orbital plates separated by a narrow stripe let me think it could be Thricops aculeipes. Please, tell me you have anaother picture showing the hind leg (which bear a very strange process ventrally)...
