If I can make a suggestion on the photography:
when taking pictures of dark objects in light backgrounds, be sure to overexpose at least one stop. The backgrouns is light anyway, but the dark object will be better.

Or fiddle about in Photoshop or some other programme to lighten the image.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
