These were photographed at the edge of a pond in Cheshire, UK at the end of June. Any ideas on which species? E. tessellata perhaps?

Does not look like Empis (radial fork is missing). Might well be Rhamphomyia crassirostris but I cannot rule out another species. Any other shots?
