Is an ID for this medium sized fly from Balearic Islands (S'Albufera, Mallorca) possible?

I did not collect it.
I can only attach additional photo. The striking end of abdomen was nearly red colored. Also the two side spots were reddish brown.

The antennae and the tip of the abdomen look quite similar to ones on the Peleteria ruficornis I collected earlier this year.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
