Hello!

I know, Chironomidae are normally nearly impossible to ID from a photo, but this male was small (2 mm) but strikingly coloured. It came to the light in our garden last monday (northwest Germany).

I think it´s Chironominae and Tanytarsini, but I can´t follow the key´s items from here (combs of hind tibia); there are Tanytarus with that "pattern" but I can´t dischard other genera, sorry, they are lovely Smile

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
