Norway, 25.07, biggest wasp I've seen here(not including the giant woodwasp), 6-7 cm ..

At first, size could be around 2 cm only. At second, it is a queen of Vespula austriaca or very light form (possible) of V. rufa. Long erect hairs on hind tibiae = austriaca. No similar hairs = rufa. Libor |
