Euxesta pechumani Curran, 1939, a species of a large New World genus. First this species was found in Italy, 1918 (and recorded as "nitidiventris" ). Later it reached many countries of Europe and Near East, eastwards to Turkmenistan, westwards to Azores, mostly with Ulmus trees. Often on dead poplars, also attracted to faeces. Was described first from the New York City (type locality). Was recorded from Hungary (as "nitidiventris" by Szilagy, 1936) and then by Soos, 1980 (Magyarorszag Allatvilaga: XV Kot., Dip. II: 66-67).
