Hi, is this a Tachinid? Some 4 mm long.

Yes - top one at least is female (with 'pincers'Wink ... the long petiole, shiny black colour and those huge, white calyptrae are quite distinctive.

Very difficult genus. I have been working on a batch recently and they work through the key sometimes but there's always a degree of uncertainty about them Sad
