Hi, I have a specimen of Tanyptera, but no key or descriptions of species. Can anyone advise how to separate the two species T atrata and T nigricornis? Nigel Jones, Shrewsbury, United Kingdom |

(and I quote): Coxae and trochanters black; antennae black; male abd. tergites 2 + 3 reddish with continuous black median line = nigricornis. Otherwise it's atrata (obviously). |
