I wondered about H italica but I don't think the tergite pattern is quite right and the wings too strongly marked? Does seem to have entirely black antennae with a long first segment though.

Thank you Susan. Well, in long absence of Theo we have to learn to ID Tabanidae ourself  With two different keys I came to H. crassicornis, having H. pluvialis to compare.
