Hi,
Here is another Bibio female from 23 April, seen in a nature reserve east of Berlin. It was very big, but it is no B. marci. ID is appreciated.
Thanks, Sundew

A very interesting photo - the wing-veins are unusually strongly marked Smile

Tibial spurs of fore leg seem to be equally long: Bibio leucopterus (female).

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
