Paul, could you not extend the maximum attachment size to 250 kB? This would solve most of my problems.

Interestingly my files will not attach, even though they should be below 195.1 kB, the maximum size set by you.. The ones that do not attach here are invariably between 180-186 kB!

I got rid of the space, and suddenly it works. It appears that the presence of a space in the name becomes an issue, if the file size is near the upper limit.

Actually, it should be an issue at all times, but I will look into that. The problem with spaces in image names can be that malicious files could be uploaded by pretending that they are images while they are not.

I can't see if your photos are compressed. It says they are uncompressed, but I doubt that. When saving a photo as JPG it is possible to choose a compression rate to make the file size smaller. If compressed too much, though, image quality will suffer. I always use "Save copy as ..." when editing photos. This way I can check picture quality and redo the saving if necessary ... and never edit the original photo file, only copies, but you all knew this already I'm sure ;)

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
