Hello, Roger! Roger Thomason wrote: Found under a pile of wood in my garden today while looking for the subject of my previous post. Can this one be named? Size < 3mm.(Body) Most likely Tenuiphantes sp. (Linyphiidae, formerly in Lepthyphantes). There are several very variable species in this group, that can in most cases not be identified after a photo . Hi Juergen I'm happy to get that far with an ID...I'll have to look for bigger subjects to photograph I think, and keep clear of Linyphiidae. Thanks yet again,Roger. |

Hello, Roger! Roger Thomason wrote: I'm happy to get that far with an ID... Well, one could speculate that it is Tenuiphantes alacris. When comparing with gallery pictures that species seems to have a slightly different opisthosoma (abdomen) pattern (more banded than spotted) as other species. But that's only a guess... Hi Juergen Yes I can live with that....I don't suppose the Spider Police will come knocking on my door in the middle of the night if I call this little guy T.alacris. I'm sure they have better things to do . Regards Roger |
