Hi,
Today I met this sunbathing Muscid. It recalls Helina evecta, but the eyes don't seem to be hairy. Can it be identified?
Many thanks, Sundew

Many thanks, Nikita. I am still not able to tell these muscid genera apart, but I won't give up...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
