Collected at Tochigi, Japan, on April 2nd, 2009. this specimen having distinct erect setae at midlength of hind tibiae, and 4 to 5 setae on dorsal side of R1 vein. Is this Phaeomyiidae? dhalma attached the following image: [55.18Kb] Edited by dhalma on 03-04-2009 16:40 |

Anyone knows more about the behaviour of this fly? I know that one species of this family is a parasitoid of milipedes... but no much more. I have found this fly again at the same hour (after 6 pm) in shadowy places, and associated with Poaceae plants. (see the other thread: http://diptera.in...d_id=12053.) |

Thank you for the reply!! Three flies was collected by a Malaise trap in deciduous forest where leaves are not opened yet. |
