Hello,
this little fly (4-5mm) was found on 20.03.09 in Tunisia on the edge of a reservoir in highlands.

Is it a Anthomyiidae?

Regards
Andreas

Anthomyiidae, genus Anthomyia. I would not like to say which species as they are difficult unless one can see more details, and also it's Tunisia, but perhaps either procellaris or quinquemaculata

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
