Hello!

Although only 10-11 °C "warm", this Myopa (7-8 mm) rested in the shadow at our house this afternoon (northwest Germany). Is it possible to give it a species name?

the thorax is completely black, so that leaves only testacea or polystigma.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
