I have identified the attached as a Dolichopodidae Sp. possibly a Dolichopodinae.

I would like to know how close I am.

It was photographed in South East England on 10th June having been found inside my house.

Thanks

Gordon

Hi Gordon.
In absence of Kahis I dare say that it is Dolichopus itself.
Species levev - not my level yetSad

Hello Nikita,

Thankyou. I have enough trouble getting to the family level let alone species level.

Regards
Gordon

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
