This one looks very much like the Platycheirus scambus I posted a while back, but this fly seems a little shorter.

Size: ~7mm
Date: 11 September 2008
Location: On a small meadow near apartment buildings (Helsingborg, Sweden)

Short or long is not an issue in Platycheirus. Compare spots on abdomen and coloration of the legs... Check with peltatus as well!

Thanks a lot for the advice Andre! I've ruled out P. scambus because the colour of the hind legs don't quite match.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
