Hello Forum,
I think, this one should be a Syrphidae. However, which one? Closer ID possible? Photo, taken August 6th 2008 in Hagen, NRW, Germany, alder marshland, 175 msm, the flower is Angelica sylvestris
Best wishes and all the best for 2009, Josef

Hello Forum,
I think about a Cheilosia spec. Could it be Cheilosia pagana? What would be against it?
Best wishes, Josef

Black antennae would be against it. But it appears to be Cheilosia.

I think it is Ch. scutellata, but a very small one.. No real good view on the face unfortunately.

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
