Hello all, It is very strange because the post I sent this morning just disappeared without any notice :-/ So, I repost it: Hello all, I photographied this Syrphidae last June at Sherbrooke Quebec (near Vermont, USA). I'm suspecting Genus Merodon or Mallota but I'm not sure. Any idea about the Genus/Species??? Thanks again for your always appreciated help :-) Michel |

It's not Merodon, that's for sure. Could be Mallota, but I'm not familiar with American genera. Anyway, this one belongs to the "Eristalinae". Let's wait for a guy like Gerard Pennards or anyone else... |

It was gone because you had posted it twice. Since this third post now has received a reply I deleted what used to be the second one at http://www.dipter...d_id=18340 (so, no use to click the link anymore ).
