Turkey, nice small valey with a lot of cow at 1700-1800m.
If it is Sepsidae (I have doubts) it have to be Susanomira.
Realy large (6mm), sometime on cow dung, but mostly on stones near.
Sepsidae?

Hi Nikita,

I agree with your doubts about this being a sepsid! This is certainly not Susanomira. I have no books available at the moment, but one of the others will probably tell you to which family this specimen belongs.

With the long extension of cell cup I think it is Ulidiidae, probably genus Ulidia.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
